The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) warns travelers to expect another 55-hour FULL closure for eastbound I-80 at the US-50 split just east of the Davis Causeway beginning May 9 through May 12. There will be delays and extended travel time so please plan ahead. After closure #1 there will be closure #2 with nightly closures through 5/21. Caltrans urges motorists to use the designated detours.
Scheduled I-80 Closure #1:
55-hour full I-80 closure – From 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 9 through 4:00 a.m. Monday, May 12
I-80 Detour #1
• Eastbound I-80 traffic will be detoured to Eastbound US-50 to Sacramento over the Sacramento River to northbound I-5 to Redding (exit 4A), to east I-80 to Reno (exit 522).
• From Westbound US-50, take the Enterprise Boulevard off-ramp (exit 81) and stay left, continue onto Enterprise to Industrial Avenue (left turn at light) continue Industrial to Harbor Boulevard (left at light) for Eastbound US-50 to Sacramento (exit 82), continue over Sacramento River to northbound I-5 to Redding (exit 4A), to eastbound I-80 to Reno (exit 522).

• Reed Avenue loop on-ramp to Eastbound I-80 closed
• 72-hour full closure from 5:00 a.m. Monday, May 12 through 5:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21
I-80 Detour #2
• From Reed Avenue, continue west on Reed, (left turn at signal) take Westbound I-80 to the San Francisco on-ramp, to Eastbound US-50 to Sacramento (exit 82), continue over the Sacramento River to northbound I-5 to Redding (exit 4A), to east I-80 to Reno (exit 522).
