The Iowa Department of Transportation (IowaDOT) reports that if you travel on eastbound I-80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime road closures that may slow down your trip.
Crews will be closing eastbound I-80 on the following nights and times for paving work:
- 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 28 to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29
- 8:30 p.m. on Monday, September 29 to 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30
- 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 to 5:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3
When eastbound I-80 is closed you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118), University Avenue, and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
