The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-80 construction and maintenance projects statewide. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
I-80 in both directions between Exit 450: 60th Street and Exit 453
US-75; South 24th Street (Omaha). Road construction work is in progress. Expect to have various overnight lane and ramp closures through fall 2024 for bridge repairs, pavement repairs, and asphalt overlay work.
Anticipated completion is November 2024
I-80 between MM 426 (6 miles west of Gretna) and Exit 440
NE 50; 144th Street; West Omaha (4 miles west of La Vista). Road construction work is in progress. Workers are working in the median. A lane is closed intermittently. Speed limit 65 mph. From 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on weekends and from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on weekdays.
Anticipated completion is June 2024
I-80 in both directions between Exit 388 NE-103; Crete and Exit 395
West “O” St Link; NW 48th Street (1 to 8 miles west of Lincoln). Widening I-80 to six lanes, reconstruct the Pleasant Dale Interchange ramps. Bridge construction work is in progress. A lane is closed intermittently. Guardrails are being repaired. Speed limit 65 mph. There is a 12-foot width limit in effect.
Anticipated completion is November 2024
I-80 in both directions between MM 380 and Exit 382
US-6 to I-80 Link; Milford (16 miles west of Lincoln). Work includes bridge deck repairs and asphalt overlays. Traffic will be maintained with nighttime lane closures and reduced speeds. There is a 12-foot width restriction in effect.
Anticipated completion is July 2024.
I-80 westbound between Exit 248
Overton Link; Overton and Exit 237: US-283; Arapahoe; Lexington; Elwood (25 to 36 miles west of Kearney). Long term road construction work. There is head to head traffic on the roadway. There is a 10-foot width limit in effect.
Anticipated completion is December 2024.
I-80 in both directions between Exit 8
Bushnell Link; Bushnell and Exit 20: NE-71; Kimball (39 to 49 miles west of Sidney). Road construction work is in progress. Work includes replacing both the eastbound and westbound lanes. Traffic will be maintained with head to head traffic in the open lanes. There is a 12-foot width limit in effect.
Anticipated completion is October 2024.
