The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted drivers that construction on its I-80 preservation project between mile markers 97 and 120 in Clearfield County will begin the week of May 26. This project will improve the ride quality of nearly 24 miles of roadway and six bridges along this I-80 corridor.
While the contractor will not be working on Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday, it plans to start work between mile markers 110 and 114 on the eastbound and westbound sides on Tuesday, May 27. PennDOT expects delays and urges drivers to add extra time to their travel schedules, exercise caution through all work zones, obey posted road work signage, and always buckle up.
PennDOT anticipates work will continue throughout the work zone through late September. It will issue updates as work progresses to different locations. All work is weather-dependent.
