The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists of an upcoming extended ramp closure for the ongoing Yolo I-80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project beginning Friday, September 13.
Continuing construction work will include a closure of the westbound I-80 connector ramp to U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) for repaving work . Caltrans urges motorists to plan for additional travel time and to expect delays.
Schedule I-80 Closure And Location:
- 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 13 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 23
- Westbound I-80 connector to eastbound US 50
I-80 Detour:
- Use WB I-80 to SB I-5 (EXIT 86) through downtown Sacramento for access to WB US 50
- WB I-80 to Enterprise Boulevard (EXIT 81) for access to EB US 50
- WB I-80 Reed Avenue (EXIT 83) for access to the City of West Sacramento
The work zone is from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on I-80 and US 50. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of workers and motorists. Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction-related issues.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety.
Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
