The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces to motorists that the closure of Jenks Street (Route 4003), in support of the I-80 North Fork Bridge Project, will be extended through summer of 2027.
The closure, which began on September 23, 2024, was originally anticipated to end on December 31, 2025, and was later extended through summer of 2026. Due to the early and ongoing winter weather and cold temperatures, the eastbound traffic switch originally scheduled to occur in late November, was delayed. This delay has affected the project schedule and the opening of Jenks Street.
To detour, drivers are advised to use Jenks Street (Route 4003), Maplevale Road, (T-845) Allegheny Boulevard (Route 36), Main Street (Route 322) and Valley Street.
PennDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted detour, allow extra travel time, and use caution in work zones for the safety of both drivers and workers.
