If you drive on I-35/I-80 between the Southwest Mixmaster and Iowa 141 you need to be aware of road closures that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (IowaDOT).
To allow crews to perform repair work on the interstate pavement, northbound I-35/eastbound I-80 will be closed to traffic beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. The closure will last until 4:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, weather permitting.
For detour route use NW Urbandale Drive, 100th Street, Valley West Drive and I-235.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
