If you travel on eastbound I-80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and the Southwest Mixmaster (I-80/I-35/I-235) you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime road closures that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (IowaDOT).
Crews will be closing eastbound I-80 so they can work on concrete paving and ramp widening from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the following nights.

If you want to reach southbound I-35 or eastbound I-235 you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118), University Avenue, and southbound I-35.
You will travel on Valley West Drive/100th Street and U.S. 6/Hickman Road to reach northbound I-35/eastbound I-80.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
