The Iowa Department of Transportation (IowaDOT) reminds motorists that If you drive on Interstate 35/I-80 between the Southwest Mixmaster and Iowa 141 you need to be aware of overnight road closures that may slow down your trip.
For crews to set overhead trusses on the interstate, northbound I-35/eastbound I-80 will be closed to traffic beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26. The closure will last until 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27. If weather causes a delay, it will take place starting at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 27.
For crews to set a truss over southbound I-35/westbound I-80, the closure will take place on Monday night June 1, starting at 10:00 p.m. and ending by 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2.
Please follow the marked detour route shown during the closure.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
