If you drive on eastbound I-80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and 60th Street (exit 122) in West Des Moines you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime construction work that may impact your trip according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.
Work on concrete paving and grading will occur on eastbound I-80 nightly from 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. from Sunday, May 19 through Thursday morning, May 23, at 5:30 a.m.
When eastbound I-80 is closed and work is taking place, you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and University Avenue to reach north- and southbound I-35 (see map).
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
