I-80/I-35 Ramp Closure Near Des Moines Begins October 15

Iowa I-80 Traffic | Iowa I-80 Construction | Des Moines | I-80 Exit Guide

The Iowa Department of Transportation reports that if you drive on westbound I-80/I-35 and use the exit ramp to reach U.S. 69 (exit 136) near Des Moines you need to be aware of an upcoming construction project that may slow down your trip.

Beginning on Sunday, October 15 until Friday, November 17, weather permitting, crews will close the westbound I-80/I-35 exit ramp to U.S. 69 (exit 136) so work can be done on the bridge approaches to the ramp.

While the exit ramp is closed you will follow a marked detour using westbound I-80/I-35, Iowa 415/2nd Avenue, and U.S. 69.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
