The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) reports that beginning Friday, June 5 at 10:00 p.m., lane closures will be in place on eastbound I-80 between Wheeler Avenue and Richards Street through 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 8.
The closures are needed for bridge deck repairs and pavement patching to help keep I-80 in safe working condition while the larger I-80 reconstruction project continues.
- Major travel delays are anticipated
- At least one lane will remain open
- Eastbound I-80 will not be impacted this weekend
- Alternate routes are strongly encouraged
Additional weekend lane closures are expected over the next several weeks, alternating between westbound and eastbound I-80.
