If you travel on northbound Jordan Creek Parkway to reach eastbound Interstate 80 at Exit 121 in West Des Moines you need to be aware of an upcoming nighttime ramp closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (IowaDOT).
Starting at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, weather permitting, crews will close the eastbound I-80 on-ramp at Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) for concrete pavement work.
If you are traveling north on Jordan Creek Parkway, a digital message sign will direct you to continue north on Jordan Creek Parkway (see map) past the closed on-ramp until you reach University Avenue. You will then turn right and travel on University Avenue until you reach I-35/I-80 (Exit 124).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
