Work continues on I-80, from mile marker 254 to mile marker 263 in Dawson and Buffalo counties, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT).
Work includes concrete replacement of I-80 in the westbound direction of travel, two bridge widening and re-decks, and a box culvert will be built to replace a bridge. At US-183 and the Elm Creek Interchange there will be concrete work, and the Elm Creek ramps will be replaced up to the gore.
Traffic will be placed in a head-to-head configuration on April 1, weather permitting, using temporary traffic control devices in the eastbound lanes while the westbound lanes are being constructed during the 2025 construction season. A 10-foot width restriction will be enforced throughout the project. Anticipated completion remains spring 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
