The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is notifying motorists that a new traffic shift will be in effect at 9:00 p.m. Thursday on westbound I-80 in Yolo County as part of the ongoing $280 million I-80 and U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) Pavement Rehabilitation Project.
The new shift will start just after the westbound US 50/I-80 junction and realign westbound lanes through the Yolo Causeway and Chiles Road locations, before merging into the existing lanes of westbound I-80 1.4 miles west of the Chiles Road interchange.
The shift is taking place to allow room for construction crews to work on the new concrete median barrier. The new striping configuration will maintain 3 through lanes from the US 50/I-80 junction onto the causeway.
