Weather permitting, work will continue March 30 on I-80 between Ogallala and Roscoe, from reference post 125.64 to reference post 132.89, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
On April 13, traffic will be shifted into a two-lane, two-way configuration on the eastbound lanes with a single lane in each direction while work occurs on the westbound lanes. Westbound traffic will utilize median crossovers to access the eastbound lanes. Temporary ramps will be utilized for westbound traffic to access Exit 126 (Ogallala/Grant). An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect, and the speed limit will be reduced to 65 mph. The two-lane, two-way traffic is expected to remain in effect until Oct. 2026, and the project completion is expected in Nov. 2026.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation assets, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
