The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists of various lane and ramp closures along I-80 in Placer County for emergency pavement repairs this week.
Motorists can expect lane and ramp closures this week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at these locations:
Tuesday, April 2 – Eastbound I-80 between Clipper Gap and Applegate
Wednesday, April 3 – Eastbound I-80 between Weimar and the junction with State Route 174 (SR-174)
Thursday, April 4 – Westbound I-80 between the junction with SR-174 and Canyon Road
Thursday, April 4 – Westbound I-80 between Weimar and Applegate
The emergency repairs are part of an $8.9 million contract to repave the section of I-80 between Auburn and Colfax last year. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
