The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) reports that I-80 traffic lanes will be reduced in the Verdi area thru June 6 as they perform routine inspection of interstate bridges.
- Intermittent single lane closures will take place in the Verdi area thru June 6 between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for routine inspection of several I-80 bridges crossing the Truckee River and railroad tracks.
- The lane closures will alternate between directions of the interstate, with lanes reduced in only one direction at a time.
June 4: lane closures will primarily take place eastbound between Boomtown and Mogul
June 5: lane closures will primarily take place westbound between Boomtown and Gold Ranch
June 6: lane closures will primarily take place eastbound between Gold Ranch and Boomtown - Speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph.
- The road work schedule is subject to change.
NDOT inspects the majority of Nevada bridges, including city and county-maintained structures, every two years. Bridges with more extensive deterioration are inspected more often, while select newer bridges are inspected every four years. In fact, NDOT’s dedicated bridge inspection and rehabilitation program has helped Nevada bridges to be named among the nation’s best for the eighth consecutive year.
