The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along I-80 as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Motorists will experience delays with each project. If traveling across the entire corridor, the cumulative delay may reach up to two hours depending on traffic volumes. Caltrans encourages motorists to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor.
Eastbound I-80
- Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project
- Crystal Springs on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to Baxter and return westbound on I-80 to Crystal Springs.
- Drum Forebay on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to the next available exit and return westbound on I-80 to Drum Forebay.
Westbound I-80
- Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project westbound I-80 off-ramp at Yuba Gap is closed until further notice due to the crossover in place. Motorists will detour westbound to the Emigrant Gap exit and return eastbound on I-80 to Yuba Gap.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of construction and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
