While passing through Elkhart on I-80, we decided to stop to grab some lunch. We found this place called Callahan’s Restaurant that looked to be a reasonable choice. We were looking for something that wasn’t fast food or a big chain restaurant.
What we found was an American fare diner with a welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere that made you feel like a regular even on our first visit.
The menu had classic comfort food… hearty breakfast plates, sandwiches, and daily specials. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. The service we got gets thumbs up, with friendly staff that don’t rush you out the door.
With Callahan’s, we got great food served in a relaxed setting – the perfect casual meal for travelers. If you’re in the Elkhart area and craving some straightforward comfort food without any fuss, jump of I-80 (exit 92) and look for Callahan’s. It’s definitely worth checking out.
