Major I-80 Construction Project Begins in Nebraska August 14

Weather permitting, I-80 construction work will begin August 14, from reference post 254+80 to reference post 263+70, in Dawson and Buffalo counties, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Work includes construction of I-80 crossovers with lighting systems at reference post 254+87 (median crossover), reference post 256+73 (interchange crossover), reference post 257+38 (interchange crossover), reference post 263+32 (median crossover), along with temporary and slip ramps at the Elm Creek Interchange and the westbound on-ramp at the Odessa Interchange.

I-80 rraffic will be maintained on Elm Creek and Odessa Interchanges with temporary traffic control devices. A 12-foot width restriction will in effect throughout the project. Anticipated completion is November 2023.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put
phones down.
