Lane Restrictions as I-80 Eastbound at I-680 Interchange Project Begins

Omaha Nebraska I-80 Construction | I-80 Exit Guide

The Nebraska Department of Transportation reports that a construction project has begun on Interstate 80 (I-80) eastbound at the I-680 interchange.

There will be overnight lane restrictions along I-80 and I-680. Crews will be installing a high friction surface treatment, which increases traction to curves on the interstate and improving safety. Anticipated completion is fall 2023.

During this project, traffic on I-80 eastbound and I-680 northbound will be rerouted to the L-I-Center
bypass ramp. Traffic will reenter I-80 eastbound and I-680 northbound via the L-I-Center Street bypass.
These overnight lane restrictions will be in place from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. nightly for the duration of the project.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
