The Indiana Toll Road (I-80) will conduct overnight pavement rehabilitation and toll plaza improvements at multiple locations through early fall, with completion expected by October.
Work will take place nightly from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM ET to reduce daytime travel impacts. Weather permitting, dates and locations for overnight Toll Plaza work is scheduled as follow:
- Angola Plaza (Exit 144): Friday, July 24, 2026
- Howe Plaza (Exit 121): Tuesday, September 1, 2026
- Elkhart Plaza (Exit 92): Monday, September 14, 2026
What travelers should know:
- Angola Toll Plaza will remain OPEN at all times. Traffic will continue to flow through the plaza, with a limited number of lanes closed overnight for work.
- Howe and Elkhart Toll Plazas will experience FULL PLAZA CLOSURES on scheduled work nights between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Motorists should plan alternate routes and follow posted detours during these closures.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra overnight travel time, and use caution near work zones. All schedules are weather‑dependent.
